President’s Message
The Pakistan Pediatric Association is committed to advancing child health and the professional growth of pediatricians across Pakistan. Our mission is to ensure the health, development, and protection of every child, while addressing inequality, abuse, and neglect.
Challenges Facing Children in Pakistan
- 👶 High neonatal and infant mortality rates
- 🍼 Low rates of exclusive breastfeeding
- 🍔 Childhood obesity from unhealthy diets
- 💉 Low immunization coverage and vaccine hesitancy
- 🧠 Rising mental health issues with limited access to care
- ⏱️ Late diagnosis of common pediatric conditions
- 💊 Unsafe medication practices, especially antibiotic misuse
- 🏥 Lack of essential facilities in pediatric care units
- 🥣 Widespread malnutrition and stunting
- ♿ Limited care for children with disabilities
- 📜 Poor awareness of child rights and protection laws
We encourage our members to actively engage and contribute their skills. For media outreach, our dedicated PPA KPK Media Committee is available to assist you in creating impactful public awareness content.
Our association is collaborating with Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, UNICEF, WHO, and other key partners to develop sustainable and innovative solutions for these challenges.
